Advice: Use your mobile. Works without problems, but ask you mobile company if your mobile is fit for the use outside Europe.Uganda has a good telephone landline network. You can easily phone from your hotel, but this is the most expensive option. There are also puplic phone boxes and single phone stands on the streets, where you can phone much cheaper then from your hotel.

A good mobile network

Uganda has quite a good mobile network operated by "Zain " (formar Celtel), "MTN " and "Mango ". Its strange when you are in the "middle of nowhere" of a national park, and then your phone rings. Because nearly everywhere in Uganda you are connected to the mobile network.

That is why we advise: Just take your mobile with you and buy yourself an uganda SIM card for a few Euros. You can buy your calling credit - called in Uganda "Air Time" - at countless telephone shops.

Prices for SIM cards are below 10 Euros. A national call costs about 10-20 Cents per minute, a call to Europe about 70 Cents.
